Action Items

Establish date and time for next Zed Call.

GK -- Action Item: Business Case for Revision

  • Description: Provide a high level case for the proposed revision. Keep it short, but include the high level deliverables.

Due date: April 28

  1. Process: George drafts asks for comments from the Zed Committee and give 48 hours for comment

GK -- Action Item: Project Plans for the Revision

  • Description: List of milestones with rough dates. Approximate completion

March 2010, with draft standards for test use as early as November 2008. Due date: May 15 Process: George drafts submits to Zed Committee asking for 48 hour turn around on comments

GK -- Action Item: Revision request to NISO

  • Description: The process document required by NISO, which includes the business case and the project plan.

Due date: May 15 Process. Ask Karen Wetzel and Todd Carpenter to review and revise as necessary.

MG: Check out XHTML role out of line declaration before last call May 10.

If it might prove to be helpful, obtain a list of who is on the NISO Topic and Collections Committee

GK and JS: Determine how to handle responses to submitters of each requirement, by June

KK: Post RNIB DTDs on the Wiki for the relevant requirements (R8 and R70).

  1. R8 "Add DTD Functionality to Support Production of Magazines, Leaflets, and Personal information"
  2. R70 "Revision of DAISY DTBook DTD"

  • On appropriate Zed calls, or the list, discuss what to do with supplementary documents that JS received that relate to requirements i.e. some supplemental items may be worth considering by the Committee, but are not publicly available, nor may they be placed in the database. This Discussion may be quickly addressed on the next Zed Committee call.
  • Decide whether the sorting of requirements JS did prior to the meeting is worth capturing as an attachment in the Wiki.
