4. NISO Update - NISO has approved the Distribution working group.
- NISO is asking for quarterly reports, which George has agreed to prepare. Any changes to working group composition or deliverable dates are essential.
- NISO reports that neither ANSI nor NISO have requirements for implementations of the standard prior to the call for vote. However, they recognize that something like the W3C requirement for two implementations of each function in the specification is desirable. It would be wonderful for the Z39.86 wg to do this, but it is not required. Please document what is done in this regard.
- The number of the standard will probably stay the same, but we do have the option to change the name.
Minutes: Reuben asked if it is OK to point people to the revision wiki to answer questions. The container format came up this past week. The process is completely open and transparent. Please feel free to point people to the wiki to answer questions.

5. Update from the W3C XHTML 2
Minutes: The W3C is closing the HTML 2 working group. The focus will be on HTML 5. This is the most controversial issue George has ever seen on the W3C AC list
For the ZedAI working group, this will mean more work and some possible delays. However, it is not a disaster and plans have been made to deal with this situation.
6. Proposed dates for a 3.5 day Face-to-face meeting
We are still looking to have Microsoft host the meeting in Redmond, outside of Seattle.
All options propose a Monday 9:00 a.m. start and Finish at noon on Thursday
Option 1: October 12-15
Option 2: October 19-22 (Windows 7 scheduled to be launched on the 22nd)
Option 3: October 26-29
Minutes: October 26-29 is up against ATIA Chicago. Dennis and Josh would have a hard time. So, all the options have one conflict or another. We will try to sort this out on the list and on the ZedDist group.
