Apologies:
The agenda was distributed to the Advisory Committee's list on 2005 July 01. There were no amendments in advance of the call.
There were no additions to the proposed agenda.
GK proposed that the next call be held on 2005 August 03.
Markus, James and George discussed if "imggroup" could exist as a block and inline element at the same time in dtbook2005-1.dtd. Although imggroup is listed in the block list, it allowed under "special" inline text elements.
A heading such as h2 contains context text and formatting only, and doesn't expect structural elements. xslt did not expect imggroup inside a heading. However, it is possible to have an image in the middle of a heading. George wondered if we allowed inline images for presentations, perhaps in math or science.
Since both block and inline are inherited from xhtml, it was decided not to rush into changing the status of imggroup. Until we re-write the grammar, we will not change the DTD's, but rely on training and good practice for the proper implementation of imggroup,
xmlspace will be added as an attribute for div. White space would not be preserved. The change is an error correction and will be noted in the errata.
NISO is waiting for us to give them the spec, but it is already posted on the NISO site. It appears that the NISO site has some problems with the html spec, it may be viewed with IE, but not Firefox.
The communications channel with NISO was turned over from Neil to George.
Markus and Ole to test DTD's prior to release of spec. This is especially important as we are asking Microsoft and Adobe to include DAISY files in "Save As".
DAISY will not adverstise the site.
Neil volunteered to be a member of the communications team.
