RSS Overview
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines or blogs.
Instead of returning to a Web site to get updated information, if there is
a prepared RSS feed, you can have the content delivered via an RSS feed reader.
First you choose and install the RSS Reader of your choice. Signing up for
an RSS reader is pretty easy. Just log on to these sites and follow the sign
up instructions and download the tools to your desktop. Once you've done that,
you can subscribe to feeds which are often indicated by
RSS
button or
XML
button icons next to links to indicate that they have an RSS feed.
