Introduction
These guidelines are written for authors of DAISY content and include general guidelines as well as guidelines for a number of special cases.
Guidelines for authoring general graphical information
These guidelines should apply to any general graphical content. They are intended
to assure that SVG graphics will be as accessible as reasonably possible to
all people. In particular they include guidelines assuring that all files will
include adequate information for accessing by audio or by audio-touch methods.
List of required functionality
- The figure must have a title.
- The figure must have a useful description.
- All important graphical objects should have titles.
- Graphical objects with sub-parts that need to be labeled should be structured so that the larger object consists of the smaller parts.
- The unicode text field accompanying SVG text should be ordered into semantically meaningful spans and should be a faithful rendition of the visual text..
