Sample Content Submission Process - Save as DAISY: Microsoft
The following describes the process flow for submission of the sample content that is needed for testing the "Save as DAISY XML" conversion software.
- A user ("submitter") goes to the Submit form and fills in contact information, information about the content, etc.
- Information from the form is entered into a database and e-mailed to specified users. Each file is given a unique ID that is used to track all operations on that file.
- An email is sent to the submitter's email address with information on how to zip with a password, and the FTP site with id and password to upload the file to.
- The submitter uploads the file using their preferred FTP application.
- Once the file upload is complete the user e-mails that the file upload is complete and sends the password for opening the zip file.
- The zip file is downloaded by a developer and opened to ensure that the password is correct and that the package is complete
- Once the file has been verified it is moved to an alternate location on the FTP site.
- The file is flagged and is available to conversion programmers for testing.
- The following information is requested:
- File info: filename, zip password, Word version, OS version
- Contact info (for the person who submitted the file): name, address, phone, e-mail,
- Publication information (if published): Publication title, publication date, publication status)
- Tracking information for developers and reviewers:
- status
- conversion software version
- comments
