Project Plans for DAISY OK Working Group
These project plans are a snapshot of what is expected to take place over the next few months. They are a high-level view of the work to be done.
- Call for Review
- Dates: August 29-October 12, 2006
Distribute the call for review of the current version of the draft specification.
- Collect all comments and review with the team. Incorporate as the team feels necessary. Respond to all who have submitted comments.
- Publish Proposed DAISY OK Specification
- Due date: October 15, 2006
After incorporating comments, post the specification as a proposed recommendation.
- Submit the proposed recommendation to the DAISY Board.
- Sample Content
- Dates: August 29-December 1, 2006 (ongoing)
Create an FTP site for sample content. Collect samples of DAISY OK content for DAISY 2.02 and for DAISY/NISO 2005. The samples must test the features and functions described in the DAISY OK specification. Make sure that the content in the sample area has appropriate copyright releases.
- Develop login procedures for developers and producers to submit self-certification forms
- Due date: October 17, 2006
Develop login and authentication procedures for developers to create
and update their information.
- Develop self-certification web-based forms for Reading Systems
- Due date: October 17, 2006
Create a web form and database for Reading System self-certification. Enable developers to create and update their information.
- Develop self-certification web-based forms for DAISY OK DTBs
- Due date: October 17, 2006
Create a web form and database for DTB producers self-certification. Enable producers to create and update their information.
- Develop the process for issuing a license for DAISY OK
- Dates: August 29-November 1, 2006
Identify the position which will be responsible for reviewing and approving
a submitted self-certification form.
Write the license and have it reviewed by legal counsel.
Test the process with members of the team.
- Online Viewing of Conforming Reading Systems
- Due date: November 17, 2006
Develop and test different views of conforming reading systems for various audiences.
- Launch DAISY OK as a DAISY Service
- Due date: December 15, 2006
Once the whole system has been reviewed and tested, display links prominently on the DAISY Web site. Make announcements.
