Intellectual Property (IP) Policy, Licensing, & Working Group Process
The DAISY Consortium is committed to open, non-proprietary standards and specifications. The standards/specifications developed by the Consortium are open and can be used by everyone. Royalty-free technologies are utilized in DAISY Consortium developments wherever possible, with existing technologies, policy, and procedures that align with the Consortium's commitment being referenced or incorporated as appropriate.

A major issue in this domain is Digital Rights Management (DRM) and the Board of Directors of the DAISY Consortium wishes to make its position on this issue publicly known.
