Member Detail: Montfort Education Centre for the Blind

Montfort Education Centre for the Blind is an institution that aims to promote education of learners with visual impairment in Malawi. It supports educational institutions that provide learning support to visually impaired students at primary and secondary schools, colleges as well as Vocational Training Centres. It is the only institution that provides educational support services to learners with blindness and low vision in Malawi. Its activities include: Production of braille books, supplying of specialized teaching and learning resources, provision of services to people with low vision and information technology training for students who are blind or have low vision. It further conducts workshops regarding Inclusion Education to regular class teachers and parents of visually impaired learners in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Science Technology and Malawi Union for the Blind.
