Vision Australia is the largest provider of blindness and low vision services in Australia.
The VA Information Library Service offers library members DTBs and a wide range of other accessible information in DAISY format.Magazines in DAISY format are also produced and made available to VA users. VA also deliver books, magazines and newspapers online to clients in Australia.
Members of the VA team were heavily involved in the DAISY Consortium Online Delivery Project, which resulted in a standard, non-proprietary system for delivering DAISY books and magazines over the Internet.
The library already has already produced thousands of books in DAISY format and with a goal to add 2000 new titles each year, their collection is growing rapidly. VA is committed to converting their analogue talking book collection into DAISY format over the next few years and is entering into partnering arrangements with other producers and blindness agencies to increase their DAISY collection even further.
Information about all of Vision Australia's services is available on the VA Web site at www.visionaustralia.org.au/.
