Member Detail: DAISY Forum of Pakistan

The DAISY Forum of Pakistan (DFOP) was established on September 6, 2006, with 5 founding members, who were already producing analogue talking books. At its first meeting Aziz Jehan Begum Trust for the Blind was and elected as its National Focal Point of Pakistan and Mr. Mohammad Salahuddin Jeddy as its President. The first National Training Course was organized from 25th September to 29th September 2006 with 16 trainees under the supervision of Mr. Dipendra Manocha, Assistant Project Manager of 'DAISY For All', with training by Ms. Miki Azuma from Japan and Mr. Prashant Verma from India. Soon after the course, efforts started for the purchase of equipment for all the five founding organisations from various cities of Pakistan. With the software received from JSRPD, Japan, and completion of the training, production of digital talking books the DAISY Way - commenced soon after the training. Recording digital talking books will gain momentum after the purchase of equipment best suited for this operation.
