Benefits of Membership

DAISY Provides:

A shared vision and mission focused on information technology for published content
Technological solutions that work today
A framework for the development of technology for tomorrow
The opportunity to participate in a "Culture of Sharing" which encourages participation and support
And, most importantly, information

Full Members will be entitled to receive free of charge, products and services which have been developed by, or offered as a direct result of the work of the DAISY Consortium, and which the DAISY. Consortium is legally authorized to issue.
Full Members will have voting and active and passive election rights at the Annual General Meeting.
Each Full Member organization is represented on the Board by one representative.
Full Members will have the opportunity to, and will be encouraged to participate in the Culture of Sharing.
Access to the member-restricted areas of the DAISY Web site, including areas pertaining to licensed software for Full and Associate Members only, and access to the advanced features of the DAISY Knowledge Network.
Full Members may receive DAISY Consortium Training Courses upon request.
Full Members also enjoy the priviledges of all Friend categories. See below.

Associate Members will, on a limited basis, be entitled to receive free of charge, products and services which have been developed by, or offered as a direct result of the work of the DAISY Consortium, and which the DAISY Consortium is legally authorized to issue.
Associate Members have the right to submit motions in advance of and to take part in the deliberations at the General Meeting. However, they will not have voting rights or active or passive election rights.
Access to the member-restricted areas of the DAISY Web site, including areas pertaining to licensed software for Full and Associate Members only, and access to the advanced features of the DAISY Knowledge Network.
A DAISY Consortium Training Course may be requested.
Associate Members may participate and review the requirements for software being developed by working groups within the DAISY Consortium.
Associate Members will have the opportunity to, and will be encouraged to participate in the "Culture of Sharing".
Associate Members also enjoy the priviledges of all Friend categories. See below.

Friends and Developers have ongoing access to the worldwide market and marketing opportunities
The opportunity to qualify products or services for "DAISY OK" certification
Representative voice for future developments
Foundation for building production tools
Framework for playback and reading system creation and design
Synergistic global collective knowledge and experience
