Localise Obi for Spanish

Firstly is there a Spanish version of Obi yet? and how do I go about locolising it?

Dear Paul,

There is no version ofObi in spanish yet. We have localized Obi in only one languuage apart from english, it is hindi. That was also a part of development process, for testing localization and to remove problems which can arise during serious localizations.

Our development team will not like to take up serious localization till final and stable version 1.0 of Obi is released.
Hopefully, DC's localization tool DAISY lion will also be available till then so as to help us in localization.

However, if you want to do it yourself before the stable version 1.0 is released, we can guide you for it.

In brief, Obi is made in c# so all localization strings are stored in .rsx files.
For localizing it in spanish, you need to convert these strings in spanish.
We can discuss more technical details mutually if you really want to do localization on RC versions of Obi.

How long do you think till release?
We are using Plextalk PRS at the moment but in English! and would like to use something in Spanish as the users don't have a lot of experience with computers and don't speak a lot of English etc.

Dear Paul,

Obi is ncx only production tool and is designed to support localization so it can be helpful for non english speaking users and also less skilled users.

Regarding timeline, Our team still need to come up with accurate deadline, depending on intensity and quantity of bugg reports. Roughly speaking, we are hopeful that stable 1.0 version of Obi will be available soon, may be something like a month or so! But as I said erlier, cannot give accurate estimate at this particular time.
