AMIS and Linux

We would be interested in a DAISY DTB s/w player that runs on the Asus eee Linux OS as we are looking at them for our students.

NB: I am surprised that this hasn't already been done as the eee is the commercial version of the One Laptop Per Child (AKA $ 100 laptop) developed for Africa. Surly the blind / VI African children would benefit from using DAISY DTB's? Just think of the potential usage of DAISY DTB's if this were available?

I agree, it would be great to have a DAISY player for Linux, and especially for Sugar/OLPC. This is a perennial topic and I hope that I'll be able to work on such a project someday. I know there's a lot of interest.

Are you using the Orca screen reader on the eee PC? I hear it's working pretty well now.
