AMIS and networked books

in
I can't seem to open daisy books that are stored on our local (microsoft 2003) network If I copy the book to my local PC the book opens OK Is it a permission thing on the server share? (user have read permissions) If it is is there a way to allow AMIS to write to a , local, temporary folder? Here's the relevant bit from the log file: MESSAGE: Opening book: file://///dserv02/daisy/mobile daisy/using the audible book player on the nokia n95/ncc.html [Dtb::open] TRACE: Start search TRACE: Thread after event, # times=1 [dx_audio_player, eventHandler] TRACE: Thread event other, # times=1, event code = [dx_audio_player, eventHandler] TRACE: Thread before event, # times=1 [dx_audio_player, eventHandler] MESSAGE: no text files found [DtbFileSet::findTextFiles] MESSAGE: This is a DAISY 2.02 book [Dtb::open] MESSAGE: Parsing file: file://///dserv02/daisy/mobile daisy/using the audible book player on the nokia n95/ncc.html [XercesSaxParseBase::parseFile] TRACE: Thread after event, # times=1 [dx_audio_player, eventHandler] TRACE: Thread event complete, # times=1 [dx_audio_player, eventHandler] TRACE: Thread before callback, # times=1 [dx_audio_player, eventHandler] TRACE: Thread before event, # times=1 [dx_audio_player, eventHandler] ERROR: Could not create input source for file://///dserv02/daisy/mobile daisy/using the audible book player on the nokia n95/ncc.html [XercesSaxParseBase::parseFile] ERROR: Could not read NCC file! Answering own question!

It will work if I use a MAPPED network drive So...Is there anyway to make AMIS work with UNC paths? Cheers ANdy J

Hi Andy, AMIS does not

Hi Andy, AMIS does not process Windows networking file path syntax. It can handle the syntax of local file paths and URLs, so mapping a network drive to a local drive letter will work, as you have seen. Marisa
