Portable Embosser Format

Hi Bert, Several embosser manufacturers have showed interest in adding support for PEF, but no one has actually done it, for various reasons. The most important being that, despite great effort over several years, we haven't been able to bring PEF to an official Daisy recommendation. However, several organisations officially support making PEF a Daisy recommendation, including RNIB, CNIB, NLB, DZB, Celia, SBS and TPB (which is my employer). As you may have noticed, a few embossers can be used together with PEF using the "Emboss PEF" script in Pipeline. If you need support for another embosser, please submit a feature request to http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=134191&atid=729302. Note that, we would need to collaborate with you to verify that everything is working, since we do not have access to every embosser. Other software efforts that I am aware of is: 1. CX for Word - it has limited support for PEF, and support for many embossers 2. WinBraille - we have worked with Index Braille to add support, however, I don't think it has been released Best, Joel
