AMIS 3.0 crashes seconds after opening an .opf-file
I have a problem with AMIS 3.0. Everytime I want to open an EPUB *.opf-file AMIS shut down within a few seconds. Anytime I open a DAISY 2.02 Book AMIS runs without any problem.
I've already checked my amisLog.txt but the error in the log is an older one. So my current error isn't documented in any log at all.
The only Error-Message I get is directly from Windows Vista. And it says: AMIS don't work anymore.
I just want to create a text-only DTB using the Daisy 3 (ANSI/NISO Z39.86-2005) structure and check it via AMIS if the dtbook works with text-to-speech.
Beside of my AMIS problem I have another question refering the sample DAISY 3 EPUB-Book you can download at daisy.org. It's a book about valentin hauy.
In this epub, the text is inside a html-document. I'm wondering why HTML is used in there. As far as I understood the specification a DTbook should be structured in am XML-document with an DTBook-DTD structure?
I'm just a beginner in DAISY and also quite a beginner in EPUB.
Thanks a lot for your help.
greetings from an student from germany :)

Hi Sebastian, Let's see,
Hi Sebastian,
Let's see, first I should clarify that EPUB and DAISY are different formats. They do share some file types, but the format is different. AMIS only plays DAISY books, not EPUB. Do you know if your sample book is DAISY 3? Does it validate? You can use the DAISY Pipeline to check this.
As for the Valentin Hauy book, that is a DAISY 2.02 book. As of DAISY 3, the text format was DTBook XML, but before that, it was regular XHTML.
Hope this helps a bit. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi Marisa,
thanks a lot for the hint of using DAISY pipeline! It helped me a lot!
I will check out the pipeline and it's features. If I have more questions I will write ;-)
Thank you for your help and support!
