Portable Amis 3.1
I saw from the comments in the forum that there is some demand for a portable version of Amis, so i've made one.
You can find it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?0hw23mzxbk7xbb9

Many thanks, seems a great idea. Please clarify if this portable version can be burnt on a CD along with a DAISY book in such a way that AMIS opens the book when the CD is run?
Can you make this change?
Sounds fantastic! I was
Sounds fantastic! I was wondering what it does about features that rely on disk storage space, such as bookmarks and user preferences -- are these enabled and do they require that a particular directory be available on the user's computer? Could you post the process used to create this executable?
Thanks

to PVerma and MDeMeglio
to PVerma: no, it's just what it says, the Amis v3.1 which doesn't require instalation, just click-start and use (good for enterprise environments with admin restrictions to install software).
to MDeMeglio: as long as you use it on the same pc, bookmarks, preferences, user directories, etc., are preserved, once entered in prog's settings. As for creating the portable, I used a pristine Win XP virtual pc in VMWare workstation, in which I installed a freeware prog named Cameyo ( http://www.cameyo.com/ ) which does all the work, namely: it captures an installation program and creates a portable package of it.
It did not work on Win 7
It did not work on Win 7 Starter and Win 7 professional here. Did you test it on Win 7 as well?
It is working on my Win XP machine.
AMIS3.1 Portable - answer
I made it on Windows XP Pro, so probably that's why it doesn't work on W7.
Try to start it as Administrator, and choose Compatibility Mode.
If nothing works, install Cameyo and make your own portable version on W7, it's very simple.
Let us know how you're doing.
