DAISY Standard Revision: ZedAI Public Draft Available for Review

The DAISY (ANSI/NISO Z39.86) Authoring and Interchange Framework - ZedAI for short, is a specification that defines the next generation of DAISY XML. The ZedAI Framework is one of the two parts in the ongoing major revision of the DAISY Standard. The specification is intended to be submitted to NISO for formal standardization in the fourth quarter of 2010, with final approval expected in the spring of 2011.

The first major ZedAI public draft for review by the DAISY community is now available at the Z39.86-2012 Specification Document Working Area: http://www.daisy.org/z3986/2012/. The review phase will last until the end of the third quarter of 2010. Updated working drafts will be made available during the review phase, as a result of community input.

Please use this forum and/or the issue tracker at http://code.google.com/p/zednext/issues/list?can=2&q=spec=ai to provide feedback. A list of items that reviewers are asked to focus on is available from the ZedAI User Portal at http://www.daisy.org/zw/ZedAI_UserDocumentation#21_May_2010:_public_revi....

Hi,

This is regarding the ZED AI file validation. When I try to open the link, http://www.daisy.org/z3986/2011/auth/profiles/book/0.6/z3986a-book.rng, "Page not found" message is displaying. Please help me if I'm wrong in this URL.

Thanks
Sunny

There have been a number of recent changes as part of the standardization process. In particular, the specification number is now Z39.98, which has necessitated changing all of the namespaces and other identifiers.

The current version of the schemas can now be found from the user portal page at:

http://www.daisy.org/z3998/2012/

The pre-release schemas should no longer be referenced.
