How do I create an account and login?

Creating a user account is also referred to as 'registering'. Please note our privacy policy.

  1. Click on the 'Login' link in the upper right area of the DAISY website.
  2. Click on the 'Create new account' tab.
  3. Fill in the required information. Enter your first initial and last name as your 'username'.
  4. Enter your first and last name separated by a blank where requested, and enter first name again, and last name again. This is to check that you are a real person. The account may be blocked if information appears "spammy". Please use the Contact Us form if you have any problems registering.
  5. If you get a message that there is already an account with this email address, it is probable that an account was created for you as part of the conversion process. Please follow the steps below under 'What if I have forgotten or don't know my password' to retrieve your password.
  6. If you do not want to share your street address, you may edit this field after registering. Only the Country and Stage/Region fields need to be retained for demographic information.
  7. After you have entered the required information, a message will be sent to your email address with a link that you must click on to enable your login for the first time. 
What if I have forgotten or don't know my password?
  1. Click on the 'Login' link in the upper right area of the DAISY website.
  2. Click on the 'Request new password' tab.
  3. Enter your email address. You will be sent a link to reset your password.
How do I get permission to access 'Member Only' content?

If you are associated with a DAISY Member or Friend Organization and require access to 'Member Only' content on the DAISY website, you may request approval as an 'Organization Representative'. This must be approved by the Account Manager for your DAISY Member Organization. See Explanation of Roles and Permissions.

  1. Register (i.e. create a login account) on the DAISY website.
  2. Account Manager information (by name only) for your organization is listed on the detail record for your organization. To view the detail record, click on the link for your organization on the DAISY Member & Friends page. Information on how to contact your Account Manager should be available through your organization (individual email addresses will not be publically revealed on the DAISY website).
  3. Notify your Account Manager of your daisy.org account email address and request approval as an 'Organization Representative'.
Will my email address be visible to other users?

No, your email address is kept hidden. The only information that is visible to other users is your username. You may allow other users to contact you by e-mail via your personal contact form. Note that while your e-mail address is not made public to other members of the community, privileged users such as site administrators are able to contact you even if you choose not to enable this feature.

Note: If your address information is filled out, some of your demographic information such as country and region is available to other logged in users.

How do I edit my email address, password, etc?

To edit any of your personal details such as your default email address or password, please click on 'My Account', followed by the 'Edit' tab. You can amend your details as necessary and the records in our database will be updated immediately. Any new details will also be emailed to you for your records.
