- QA Player
- A tool which accompanies both LpStudio/Pro and Sigtuna DAR 3. It very closely parallels one of the DAISY software players and can be used to ensure that a DTB will perform properly at any point during production and before it is finalized and built for delivery to the end user.
- Quality Assurance
- Sometimes called Quality Control, the process ensures that a product will perform properly once it is delivered to end user. Most producing organizations will have a quality assurance built into their production system.
- Quantization
- A process during which every measured amplitude value of the analog signal is rounded to the nearest available digital value.
- Quantization Noise
- An artifact in digitized audio that can result during the conversion from analogue to digital audio during the recording process (the analogue signal originating with the microphone being converted to digital signal). A good quality converter with audio recorded with a reasonable sample rate, will reduce the quantization noise. Quantization noise can also be introduced in the signal by digital audio compression.
