hint
[HINT] The process sequence for text synchronization is as follows: after finishing editing an audio event, you do text event synchronization before moving on to the audio event editing of the next NCC.
When you import audio files into an NCC item the first event in the event list will always be a text event, which is then followed by a number of audio events. If there are other text events in the NCC item, these other text events will appear after the the imported audio events.
If there is a large number of events in an NCC item, they will not all be displayed in the event list at the same time. The scroll bar on the right allows you to scroll through the event list.
hint
[HINT] When the text of the text event is not displayed on the event list, select "Application options" in the "View" pull down menu, or click the "Application settings" button, which is the "i" icon in the toolbar, then check the "Display HTML text in the event list" box and select "OK".
Text synchronization steps
- Check the wording in the text event.
- Find the audio event corresponding to the words in the text.
- Memorize the audio event number, then select the text event.
- Move the text event to the audio event number by the "Move one event one step up" button in the toolbar or "Move event up"(CTRL+F9) in the "Edit" pull down menu.
Move the text event before the audio event
The position before the audio event is the synchronization point of the audio event and the text event. Once you select a text event in the event list, the corresponding text in the browser window is, and will stay, highlighted until you select the next text event or a synchronized audio event in the list.
Attention!! If the project is extremely large or the number of the events in one NCC item exceeds 400, the processing speed may be slower depending on the computing capacity. Please do not try to operate too quickly, especially when the computer has low processing capacity. If you are editing very quickly and the computer is not able to process the information quickly enough, the SMIL file can be damaged.
