Manual HTML

When a text file or an (X)HTML file is available, you can add text semi-automatically with the Manual HTML mode. To use this mode, open an existing (X)HTML or text file by clicking the 'Open source' button which is on the left of the tab page. The text of the file is now displayed in the text window.

When you start synchronizing, playback the first audio event by clicking the "Play current audio event" button (F6), the audio playback will stop automatically when that audio event has been played. The first text event is already there as a NCC title. It is therefore not necessary to synchronize to that event. You can delete the unnecessary text from the text browser. You can then move to the next step: click the "Play current audio event" (F6) button to playback the second audio event.

The 'Manual HTML' tab, click the end of the text that you have listened to
The 'Manual HTML' tab, click the end of the text that you have listened to.

The steps are given below.

Steps

The synchronized text is now added to the XHTML window above the text window, and that text is automatically removed from the text window. Repeat these steps for each audio event. When you finish the NCC item, move to the next NCC item using the "Next NCC" (CTRL+PageDown) button in the upper right corner of the ATAU screen.

Please be aware that each time you begin synchronizing a NCC item, you must not synchronize the first audio event. Delete the text corresponding to the ToC in the text window and move on to the next audio event, otherwise the project may have serious problems that you are unable to repair.

Attention!! If you select the "Do synch" button before the audio event has been played back completely to the end, it will split that audio event into two at the place where you pressed "Do synch".
To help you to avoid this, you have the option to increase the ATAU playback speed up to 300%. The speed can be changed in the "SigtunaDAR3 Options" dialog (CTRL+L) in the "Options" pull down menu.
