ATAU Screen

At the top of the ATAU screen, there are four buttons that are used to navigate between the NCC headings. From the left to right they are: "Done" (Alt+F4), "Prev. NCC" (CTRL+PageUp), "Goto NCC" (F10) and "Next NCC" (CTRL+PageDown). "The current NCC item number" and "The total number of the NCC items" counter is shown in the upper right corner of the screen.

The working area consists of the two main parts. The upper half of the ATAU screen is the browser window where the synchronized document is displayed. It shows the XHTML file which corresponds to the current NCC item. Below it, there are three tab pages that corresponds to the three different ATAU text modes. You can change the mode by selecting the tab for the mode you require.

Control buttons such as "Play current audio event" (F6), "Repeat current audio event" (F5) and the buttons to move an event are at the bottom left of the screen. Immediately to the right of the control buttons there are four information displays indicating "The current event number and the total events number", "The event type", "The elapsed time of the current event" and "The total time of the current event".

There is a single button on the right side of the three tab pages, the "Do synch" (CTRL+Return) button. This button is used either on the "Manual typing" or the "Manual HTML" tab page. When you are certain that the text displayed on the tab page corresponds correctly to the audio event, click the "Do synch" button. This synchronizes the text with the audio event. Once they are synchronized you can move to the next event.

Attention!! If you select the "Do synch" button before the audio event has been played back completely to the end, the audio event will be divided into two events at the point where "Do synch" was selected.
To help you to avoid this, you have the option to increase the ATAU playback speed up to 300%. The speed can be changed on the "SigtunaDAR3 Options" dialog (CTRL+L) in the "Options" pull down menu.
Attention!! VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT click the links in browser on the upper part of the screen after finishing synchronization.
An error message will be shown, and there will be problems in the project that you are unable to fix using Sigtuna DAR 3.
