AMIS, the latest Daisy playback software from JSRPD, is now available for download, free of charge, at http://www.amisproject.org/.
Highlights of AMIS include: fully customizable look and feel through the use of skins, and extended support options for joysticks, braille displays, large font displays, and other input and output methods. By running AMIS with plug-ins loaded, you can control the software via a game pad, voice recognition, or a scanner program; and you can see the DAISY output (the highlighted phrase or paragraph) as large font or refreshable braille. Instructions for writing your own plug-ins can be found at www.amisproject.org/swdocs/.
