Both Type 3 and Type 4 books require the creation of an xhtml file prior to recording (or generation with synthetic speech). This extra step in the production process requires additional time as well as staff resources with skill sets quite different from the skills that are required to produce a Type 2 DTB or to record the human narration component of Types 3 and 4.
